It’s like a dream come true for the adivasis of Gopera when a road was laid connecting them to the outside world. They are happy as they can now take the pregnant women to hospital in a bus instead of ferrying them on a cot. Now their children can study in schools, which were not running properly as there was no road connectivity.
The tribals of Gopera hamlet get road connectivity to outside world
Luxettipet: It’s like a dream come true for the adivasis of Gopera when a road was laid connecting them to the outside world. They are happy as they can now take the pregnant women to hospital in a bus instead of ferrying them on a cot. Now their children can study in schools, which were not running properly as there was no road connectivity.
Gopera under Tiryani mandal of Komaram Bheem Asifabad district had produced a few top Maoists. Thanks to Komaram Bheem Asifabad District Superintendent of Police Sunpreet Singh, who took the initiative of laying road.
He personally observed the transport problems of adivasis during his visits into the forest fringe areas as part of friendly policing and ‘policulu mee kosam’ programmes a few months ago.
He came to know about the hardships of the tribals in Gopera, Goina Kolamguda and other hamlets from close quarters and assured the villagers of providing road connectivity to their village.
Speaking to the media, the villagers thanked the SP Sunpreet Singh for laying 7 km road from Gopera to Modiguda. They said now they can go to Modiguda by auto, bus or jeep, from where they can catch a bus to Tiryani and Dandepalli mandal headquarters.
Karimnagar range DIG Ravi Varma and Komaram Bheem Asifabad district Superintendent of Police Sunpreet Singh inaugurated the road and started bus facility to Gopera village.
The DIG and the SP suggested the tribals to keep their children away from getting attracted to Maoists’ ideologies. They told them to seek the support of government agencies in order to undergo development.
