The Telangana State police organised the Run to remember the sacrifices made by police forces in the country. Around 6,000 citizens took part in the Run. Arunga Bahuguna, the Director of SVP National Police Academy said that such events not only should be organised in Hyderabad but to promote all over the country to remember the solidarity of policemen.
Anurag Sharma, the Director General of Police said, “This event inculcates the first Indian Police Expo in association with the Ministry of Home Affairs. It is an integral part of the plan to engage citizens and build community engagement and positive public interface. The Central Armed Police Forces and Central Police Organisations exhibited their work and weaponry.”
“The Expo was inaugurated by Home Minister a day ago and due to overwhelming response from the public, the Indian Police Expo has been extended till Monday,” said the DGP. The IPS offices working in twin cities and from neighbouring State, Andhra Pradesh attended the Memorial Run.
