Vision Regained and his sinus disease turns into fungal infection

 A 66 –year-old, non diabetic, non hypertensive patient came with complete loss of vision in right eye. He went to LVPEI and was advised to visit ENT. At MAA ENT, the chief surgeon Dr. K R Meghanadh saw the fungal infection of the sinuses and cleaned it by endoscopic surgery. 

Hyderabad: A 66 –year-old, non diabetic, non hypertensive patient came with complete loss of vision in right eye. He went to LVPEI and was advised to visit ENT. At MAA ENT, the chief surgeon Dr. K R Meghanadh saw the fungal infection of the sinuses and cleaned it by endoscopic surgery.

The right nerve of vision was identified and pressure on that nerve was released (optic nerve decompression) on February 6. After 2 hours of surgery the vision came back. The patient is recovering well and now able to see from the right eye also. Surgery at right time has helped in good recovery.

A neglected sinus disease turns into fungal infection. Once fungus starts it can spread to brain and eye. An early surgery and medical treatment will avoid this fatal complication.
