Hyderabad: With its six-way lane, the Bahadurpura flyover will be saving huge amounts of fuel for vehicles plying on National Highway (NH 44). The commuters have to wait for several minutes before they cross the busy junction. This flyover would help the vehicles mostly heavy vehicles running on the longest National Highway in India which connects North-South (Srinagar to Kanyakumari) to cut short their time and fuel consumption.

According to GHMC officials, there will be free flow of traffic from Puranapul to Zoo Park over the flyover on National Highway and which will not only save time, but also operation cost of the vehicle, as the truckers don’t need to change gears often. The flyover which is being constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 69 crore will be completed by September 2019. “The project has been designed with a projection for traffic 20 years later with its 6-lane grade separator,” said GHMC superintending engineer (projects) Dattu Panth.

The project which was mooted about 14 years ago got the administrative sanction in 2015 and the contract was bagged by BSCPL Infrastructure Ltd. This 680 mts (0.68 kms) flyover will have 13 piers and will resolve the traffic problem by 95 per cent. Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, K T Rama Rao on Wednesday laid foundation stone for the flyover at the Bahadurpura X roads. The flyover will facilitate the free flow of traffic from Puranapul to Zoo Park and provide much-needed respite from gridlocks to the commuters.

Another flyover in the close proximity is under consideration which will connect Aramgarh to Zoo Park on the lines of PVNR Expressway which connects to Shamshabad Airport from Mehdipatnam. This will cut short the travel time of those who will be going towards Airport. This flyover will overcome the bottlenecks including grave yards, religious structures and other obstructions caused by narrowing of the road at boundary walls of government institutions on the way.
