Musheerabad: Extended meeting of the backward classes, BC groups, intelligentsia and social scientists was held at Visvesvaraya Bhavan on Sunday. BC Welfare Association state president Jajula Srinivas Goud threatened to stage protest if reservations for BCs was not increased.

ABCD categorisation of BCs, population figures and panchayat reservations were discussed in the meeting. Kudaram Ganesh has been elected unanimously as BC Associations coordinator during the meeting. Prof Venkat Rajaiah, Dr Sayanna, Dr Prameela, Mallikarjun, Surya Rao, K Srinivas and others took part.
