Goud had won 2009 elections as an independent candidate and was an associate member of the Congress party till he joined the YSRCP recently.

Hyderabad: Qutubullapur MLA Kuna Srisailam Goud, who left YSR Congress party on Wednesday alleging that the party had changed its stand on the issue of separate Telangana, joined Congress party on Friday. Goud had won 2009 elections as an independent candidate and was an associate member of the Congress party till he joined the YSRCP recently.
Admitting Goud, along with his followers into the party, PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana said that the State was passing through a very sensitive phase. He said on one hand, people of Seemandhra region were agitating against the decision of the Congress party to divide the State. On the other hand, T people were anxious that the process to be completed fast.
In the backdrop of this situation, he said, political parties like TDP and YSRCP were trying to play “dirty” political games. He said they were alleging that the Congress had taken unilateral decision. The Congress, he said was the last one to announce its stand on Telangana after elaborate consultations with all parties which included TDP and YSRCP.
Cong leader Balasouri set to join YSRCP
Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader and former MP Vallabhaneni Balasouri on Friday met YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy at Chanchalsguda jail in the city. The former MP from Tenali in Guntur district is understood to have discussed about the political developments in the State and the ongoing Samaikyandhra agitation after the Congress endorsed the formation of Telangana. Speaking to newsmen after the meeting, Balasouri said that he decided to join the YSR party at a public meeting being organised in his home district after Jagan comes out from the jail. Jagan was the only leader had ability to run the State.
