The thirtieth annual day celebrations of Helen Keller Institute of Research and Rehabilitation for Disabled Children coincided with the institutes founder Patan Ummar Khan’s birthday celebrations. The celebrations held on Saturday at GK Saraswathi Function Hall had deaf children dancing and participating in a fancy dress competition.

Students of Hellen Keller Institute staging cultural shows as part of the annual day celebrations

MLA Ch Kanaka Reddy was the chief guest, and film director Anil Kumar Ravipudi and actor Srinivas Reddy attended the event as special guests. They joined in the celebration and shook a leg with the hearing impaired students. Ch Kanaka Reddy promised to help provide for the institute proper infrastructure. Lifetime achievement awards were given to four social workers.
