Mydukuru (Kadapa): The State government sacking Health Minister DL Ravindra Reddy created a furore in Mydukuru, DL's own constituency. The Minister's followers and Congress party activists staged protests and one woman activist tried to immolate herself by dousing her body with kerosene at Mydukuru on Sunday.
When they tried to close down all shops protesting against DL's removal from the State Cabinet, police failed to pacify them. Finally, they gave in when the DSP explained that their bandh will affect the lives of common people. DL followers burnt the effigy of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in Duvvur and staged protest on the national highway.
Protests continued in Brahmamgari Matham and other places in the district. According to sources, some leaders are thinking of resigning for their posts and also to the party in support of DL.
