The research scholar, Rohith Vemula had committed suicide two years ago due to alleged caste-based discrimination. Now, his mother is blaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi for her son’s death and denied allegations that she was offered money by the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) to speak against him.

Radhika Vemula’s statement came hours after BJP accused “opposition parties” of ‘using Vemula family for political gains’.

Stating that her support to IUML was based on their ideology and their fight against the BJP, she clarified that the party had assured to help with funds to build a house but added that it doesn’t have anything to do with her campaigning for the party in Kerala.

Criticising the BJP for playing cheap politics and trying to defame Muslim league, the IUML stated that Radhika Vemula attended meetings of various political parties and spoke against BJP further questioning whether all the parties paid her to talk against PM Modi.

General secretary of Youth Wing of Kerala unit of Muslim League, CK Subair said that they had built houses for thousands of homeless people in Kerala and Jharkhand under their Baithu Rahma Project, similarly offered Radhika Vemula a house under that scheme.
