GHMC tax official arrested on bribe charges

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths arrested a tax inspector of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation(GHMC) for taking a bribe on Monday.

The accused, K Jai Krishna, tax inspector, GHMC, Yousufguda was caught red-handed by ACB sleuths when he demanded Rs 4,000 bribe from the complainant and accepted it through his associate G Shiva Shankar.

The complainant, Dr. P Hemanth Kumar, of Somajiguda had complained that the tax inspected had demanded a bribe to correct the name of his father in GHMC property tax record.

The ACB officials then laid a trap at Krishna’s office in Yousufguda and nabbed the associate when he received the bribe amount on directions of Jai Krishna.
