The Temple City of Tirumala will be free from plastic menace from November first this year. The ban on use of plastic was already in force in Tirupati.
Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam Joint Executive Officer Srinivasraju said that he already instructed Archakas, TTD staff and other staff stop using plastic for any purpose. Laddu will be supplied only in more than 50 micron plastic covers.
Before clamping a complete ban on plastic use, the TTD officials will organise awareness program about the hazards of plastic use to hotel management and also other shops in the temple town.
