The Kia Motors donated four hybrid electric cars to the APIIC on Thursday in the presence of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu at Secretariat

Amaravati: The Kia Motors donated four hybrid electric cars to the APIIC on Thursday in the presence of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu at Secretariat.

These are the new to India. On this occasion, Chandrababu Naidu also launched the Kia Motors EV Charging Station for these four cars. The electric cars will be used for the VIPs mobility between Gannavaram Airport and Secretariat.


The vehicles could run to around 500 kms with one time full charge. It will take roughly 8 hours for charging through Alternative Current (AC) and just 45 minutes through Direct Current (DC).

Kia Motors authorities explained that it will save 60 percent expenditure on the fuel.

After launching the programme, both Kia Motors and APIIC entered a Memorandum of Understanding on these vehicles and EV Charging Station.

Kia Motors will commence production of these vehicles in the next two years.
