Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University’s cricket team registered an emphatic win over University of Hyderabad in the Triangular Azad Round Robin League Cricket Tournament 2018-19. MANUU beat HCU by 8 wickets.
The tournament is being organised by the Directorate of Physical Education & Sports (DPE, MANUU.
In the match played at HCU Cricket ground the host team batted first and scored 124 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 25 overs. Khalid bowled brilliantly and took 3 wickets for 16 runs. In reply he also scored unbeaten 58 runs to help MANUU registered an impressive win. His knock included one sixer and six fours. Mohammad Rafeeq Khan supported him with 32 not out runs as well.
According to Dr. Moahmmad Habeebullah, Assistant Director, DPE & Sports, the second phase of the tournament was inaugurated jointly by Prof. Abul Kalam, Chairman, Sports Monitoring Committee, MANUU and Prof. Rajshekhar, Director, DPE&S, HCU.
Samsan, Assistant Director, DPE&S and Coach of HCU, Dr. Mohammed Yosuf Khan, Principal, Polytechnic (MANUU), Muajhid Ali, Assistant Director I/c, Mohammed Musharaf Khan were also present on the occasion.
