Meeting on Tiger Conservation held on HC directives
The High Court of Telangana, in Writ Petition PIL No 82019 filed by Diya Sur against the State of Telangana on implementation of Tiger conservation Plan of Kawal Tiger Reserve has given Interim Orders Dt 722019
Hyderabad: The High Court of Telangana, in Writ Petition (PIL) No. 8/2019 filed by Diya Sur against the State of Telangana on implementation of “Tiger conservation Plan of Kawal Tiger Reserve “ has given Interim Orders Dt. 7.2.2019.
The Court has made the Chairman and MD, TSNPDCL, The Commissioner of Prohibition & Excise, The District Collectors and Superintendents of Police of Adilabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Asifabad Districts respondents and directed to form a team under the leadership of Field Director, Kawal Tiger Reserve and authorized officials of Police, Excise and TSNPDCL to inspect the area of the Kawal Tiger Reserve and submit the status of protection and monitoring mechanism as per the Tiger Conservation Plan.
In view of the directions of the High Court, the District Collectors, Superintendents of Police, Superintending Engineers, Deputy Commissioner of Prohibition & Excise and District Forest Officers of Adilabad, Mancherial, Nirmal and KB Asifabad districts have conducted Coordination meeting on implementation of Tiger Conservation Plan and reviewed the protection measures being taken and prepared the Action Plan for further protection.
The decisions will be submitted to the Court on February 28, according to a press release.
