suravaramMedak: The Congress should declare Telangana state instead of prolonging the issue, demanded Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, CPI national general secretary. Speaking to media persons at Siddipet on Monday, Sudhakar Reddy demanded Congress to respect the aspirations of Telangana people and form Telangana state without delay. He appealed to the Centre to conduct elections in 2014 in separate Telangana state. "The Congress has completely mired up in corrupt practices and failed to control skyrocketing prices," he alleged. Sudhakar Reddy wondered as to how Union Finance Minister could extend subsidies to Rs 5 lakh crore Corporate firm. He accused the BJP of trying to grab power by projecting Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate. He lamented over increasing economic disparities between rich and poor. Earlier, he along with Siddipet legislator T Harish Rao unveiled the statue of the first legislator of Siddipet, late Edla Gurava Reddy on the premises of the Government Degree College in Siddipet. Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao heaped praise on Gurava Reddy for his yeoman service to the poor in the constituency. Educationalist Chukka Ramaiah compared Gurava Reddy to a morning star. CPI state secretary Narayana said Gurava Reddy was an ideal political leader for future generations. Former MLA Chada Venkat Reddy, singer Deshapathy Srinivas, MLC P Sudhakar Reddy, College principal GM Sharma and others participated.
