Lucknow: A confident UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav flexed his muscle to prove he has the support of over 200 MLAs in the Samajwadi Party, out of the party's total strength of 229.

It was always known that the Mulayam-Shivpal had the muscle, while son Akhilesh had the image. But in politics, actual power comes from the support of party workers and people at large.

So while many thought the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh would see a split SP, with father and son fighting against each other,

it appears like it's the son who would take the cake (whatever be the numbers and voteshare), leaving just crumbs for the father-uncle combine.

A snap poll conducted by C-Voter in the Avadh, Bundelkhand, Lower Doab, Upper Doab, Ruhelkhand and Poorvanchal districts of Uttar Pradesh indicated that Akhilesh commands an overwhelming support over father Mulayam.

The survey looked at all social segments and various strata of society and community; different age and income groups, upper castes, OBCs, Muslims and Yadavs, men and women, urban, semi-urban and rural voters.
