parentsNellore: The parents alleged that large scale irregularities were taking place in admissions into the Nellore Kendriya Vidyalaya.A They said that even though the children were selected for the admission into the school through a lottery system, the seats were not being offered to them in the school. Some days back, the applications were invited for the admissions into the Nellore KV School for the 2013-14 academic year under Right to Education Act quota. The parents made a beeline for seeking the admission into the school and a good number of people applied for it despite knowing that the chances of entry were slim. According to officials, 10 admissions are given every year under the Right to Education Act quota and the children are selected through a lottery system. On March 16, the lottery was held in the presence of Education Committee and School Management. During the lottery, a girl, Polisetti Hasini of Pallavolu village of Marripadu mandal, has been selected for the admission into the first class. However, about 10 days after the admission process was completed, the school authorities removed the name of Hasini from the quota of Right to Education Act and included another children's name in the list. When the parents of Hasini approached the school principal Balajan and brought the problem to his notice, he reportedly gave an arrogant answer and defended his decision of denying the admission to Hasini. On receiving the information, the HMTV correspondents rushed to the school and tried to inquire about the details of the admissions. However, the school principal behaved rudely with the media persons and launched a verbal attack on them, instead of giving the actual information to them. The parents and Education Committee members alleged that School Principal Balajan were violating all the rules and regulations and were committing many irregularities in the name of admissions. They demanded the Government to take stern action against him and give admissions to all the eligible children.
