Banswada (Kamareddy): Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that the TRS government under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was taking up several welfare measures to mitigate the sufferings of the people of the State.
The Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya works were taken up spending thousands of crores of Rupees to provide drinking water to the households and irrigated water for the farmers on an hourly basis every day , he added.
Speaking to the media after inspecting the Mission Bhagiratha works in the town on Sunday, Pocharam said that sowing of Rabi crop was done on 2.10 lakh acres of land near the Nizamsagar ayacut region.
There would be an excellent yield on the Rabi crop worth Rs 1,000 crore this season, he added.
The Agriculture Minister lashed out at the Opposition parties for creating nuisance and for their unwarranted criticism against the TRS government. The Opposition leaders were creating hurdles in development, he added.
What the Congress leaders could not do in 60 years, the TRS government was doing in two- and- a-half -years, he added.
Minister Pocharam said that a VRO would be appointed for monitoring every distributory and a VRA would monitor the activities at the canal and water would be released in accordance with the design.
Jukkal MLA Hanmanth Shinde, Zilla Parishad Chairman Dafedar Raju and several TRS MLAs were present on the occasion.
