Hyderabad: “A hungry person will suffice with a Roti and a glass of water. What is the use of Biryani for him, if it is provided 5 years later?” he asked. These are the questions asked by Majlis legislative leader Akbaruddin Owaisi. He literally peeled the government from top to bottom. He asked that why didn’t the Central Government add Telangana to 24 hour power plan. He said that they added Delhi, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh but forgot Telangana.

He stated that the power crisis in Telangana is due to the obstruction of power by the Andhra Pradesh government. He held TDP and Congress responsible for the power problems. He demanded the Power MOU signed with the Chhattisgarh government to be produced to the assembly.

“Is there spare current available? If available, when will it be released to Telangana? Are they proper lines to transfer power? How much will it cost? Are there any funds allotted for this project in the budget? It is estimated that around 6 crore is to be expended for 1 megawatt power. On that basis the government needs 1.2 lakh crores. This is equal to state budget. How will you spend that much money? 4000 acres are required for 4000 megawatts NTPC plant and 2000 acres is necessary for 20000 mega watt plant. Is it possible for the government to allocate the above? Lift (Etthi Pothala) projects are majority in Telangana. They singularly require 7150 mega watts power. Even if we are able to generate 20000 mega watts power, what about the demand after 5 years? Will we be able to reach it? Are there any plans for the future of the state?” asked Owaisi.
