Apple desires to make you believe the iPad Pro is a computer

Apple claims that the iPad Pro is a computer it’s not just a tablet. Apple says in its new advertisement the iPad Pro, “can be your next computer,” and is “more powerful than most computers,” and flat out that it is “a computer.”

Apple today published a one minute video titled, “5 reasons iPad Pro can be your next computer”.

They are listed as follows:

1. It’s more powerful than most computers.

2. It’s anything you want it to be as long as there’s an app for that.

3. It goes anywhere and stays connected everywhere.

4. Using it as easy as tapping, swiping, pinching and dragging.

5. It’s even better with Apple Pencil

Apple’s video description says, “Meet the new iPad Pro. It’s powerful, versatile, and goes anywhere and stays connected everywhere, and it’s even better with the all-new Apple Pencil”. “It’s like a computer, unlike any computer.”

Even though the Apple fans have been ready to embrace the iPad as a computer for a long time, it’s yet to grow into a fully fledged one and it still has limitations unlike a normal “computer”.

But even if Apple desires to make us believe it, love it, and just get it, there are many areas where it still falls short compared to a laptop: you can’t use external storage over USB-C, and you can’t open multiple browser windows to be displayed at once, just to name a couple examples. And until these limitations are worked on, we’re likely to have this disagreement.
