GHMC stops demolitions

At the second meeting of the GHMC standing committee held on Thursday, it was unanimously resolved to stop the demolitions of unauthorised constructions. The committee members asked the officials to initiate action against concerned section officers and assistant city planners during whose time the constructions had taken place. They also asked the GHMC Commissioner to write a letter to the government seeking orders for regularisation of unauthorised buildings.

However, demolitions of unauthorised structures were taken up on Thursday in several areas of the city.
