Superfine rice supplied to hostels, schools

Minister for Finance and Civil Supplies Eatala Rajender on Monday informed the Legislative Assembly that superfine quality rice was being supplied to welfare residential hostels and schools across Telangana State.

Replying to a question raised by TRS MLA Rasamai Balakishan and others during Question Hour, the minister said 20,389 tonnes (8,719 tonnes for hostels and 11,670 tonnes for schools) of superfine quality rice was supplied, covering 2,695 hostels and 27,865 schools so far. The budget provided to the Civil Supplies Department under Subsidy on Rice Scheme would cover subsidy on issue of superfine quality rice to welfare hostels and Mid-Day Meals (MDM) also, he said.
