Hyderabad: The city police have enforced the following traffic restrictions in the city to facilitate the ‘Hanuman Jayanti’ procession on Saturday. The procession will start at 10 am from Ram Mandir in Gowliguda and reach the Tadbund cross-roads traversing through Putlibowli crossroads, Koti, Badi Chowdi, Kachiguda cross-roads, Chikkadpally, Ashok Nagar, Kavadiguda, Bata crossroads, RP Road, Mahankali Temple and Balamrai.

“Traffic police will facilitate the students to reach their examination centres. All Law & Order and Traffic personnel posted at various places have been briefed to ensure that students appearing for examination are not put to any inconvenience,” Additional CP (Traffic) Jitender said, adding that for any support people can call traffic control room at 27852482 or traffic helpline at 9010203626.

May cause inconvenience to students The Majlis Bachau Tahreek (MBT) on Friday expressed apprehensions that Old City students, appearing for SSC exams, might face inconvenience due to certain restrictions imposed by the police for Shobha Yatra, being taken out on Saturday, on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanthi. The procession is coinciding with their Physics paper.

Since many examination centres are also located in communally sensitive areas, it would be difficult for the students to reach and even return from those places. As almost all roads will be blocked in view of procession, the students will find it difficult to reach their destination on time.

The students living in the Old City, but having their centres in the new city, will be the main sufferers," MBT leader and ex-Corporator Amjed Ullah Khan said during a representation made to Hyderabad Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy. Amjed Ullah Khan said that the safety of burqa clad girls and other Muslim students was a matter of concern. He urged the Commissioner to make some alternate arrangements to ensure safety and security of students and their parents.
