In last 24 hours, Nizamabad district recorded an average rainfall of 3.85 cm. In Kotagiri 9 cm, Varni 7.58 cm, Birkoor and Jukkal 7.54 cm, Gandhari 6 cm, Kamareddy 5.64 cm, Nagireddipet 5.62 cm and Bhiknoor 5.46 cm rainfall was recorded. From Wednesday morning, Nizamabad city and other parts of the district experienced continuous rains.


Nizamabad city recorded nearly 8 cm rainfall from Wednesday morning to afternoon. The low lying areas of Malapalli, Barkatpoora, Kenalkatta, Chandra Shekhar Colony, Goutham nagar and other places got submerged due to flood water. With the flood waters entering homes, grains and other electronic appliances got damaged affecting normal life.


Also, many shops, cloth showrooms and offices located near main roads in the city incurred loss as the flood waters entered the premises and damaged valuable goods and commodities.
