Girls told to develop scientific temper

The artists of Jana Vignana Vedika (JVV) on Tuesday staged cultural shows at the Government Degree College for Women here as part of its ‘Kala Jatha’ programme titled ‘Power of Women’. The cultural programmes were organised to inculcate scientific temper and among the girl students.

Speaking at the programme, the All India Science Congress Network general secretary, P Ramesh, said that they brought out Kala Jatha to instill confidence in girl students.
Ramesh stressed on the need to inculcate scientific temper among the girl students. He urged them to draw inspiration from eminent women who excelled in their chosen professions and strove to reach great heights.
Lamenting that the girl students were committing suicides over silly issues, Ramesh said that the Kala Jatha was also aimed at instilling confidence in them. Girls must develop self-confidence, he added. District JVV general secretary N Venkata Ramana Reddy, college principal Mangathayaru and others were also present.
