Telangana government who has been claiming to be take steps to assist distressed farmers, recently hiked the ex gratia for the kin of the farmers from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh.
Irrigation minister T. Harish Rao on the farmers’ suicides asked the farmers to approach the district administrations for help instead of committing suicides. The minister promised that the government would take care of all farmers and also that every case of suicide will probed with the reports being sent to the government.
