Manuu gets UGC nod for distance courses
Responding to a letter by university administration, the UGC said the university could also start B Ed programme after receiving approval from National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) during 2015-2016.
Hyderabad: The University Grants Commission accorded permission to Maulana Azad National Urdu University (Manuu) to offer five programmes i.e. B A; B Sc (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics); B Sc (Chemistry, Botany and Zoology) and M A Urdu, English, History and Islamic Studies through distance education mode.
Responding to a letter by university administration, the UGC said the university could also start B Ed programme after receiving approval from National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) during 2015-2016.
The UGC, in its letter to Manuu, said the new courses were in addition to the ones that were allotted by it for the academic session 2015-2016 earlier. The university administration said Directorate of Distance Education had about 50,000 students, most of them girls and women, on its roll.
