The State and district leaders of Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) and Indian Journalists’ Union (IJU) have condemned the assault on senior journalist Pasham Yadagiri by an Assistant Sub Inspector and attacks of government-inspired lawyers on the journalists in New Delhi.

Khammam: The State and district leaders of Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) and Indian Journalists’ Union (IJU) have condemned the assault on senior journalist Pasham Yadagiri by an Assistant Sub Inspector and attacks of government-inspired lawyers on the journalists in New Delhi.

The union leaders have held a rally from Collectorate to ZP office, here on Thursday, wearing black ribbons and protested standing on the knees in front of the Gandhi statue on the premises of ZP office. They demanded that all people organisations condemn the attack of ASI Vishwajith on senior Journalist Yadagiri, who inspired the Telangana movement and involved in it from the very beginning when of it. Yadagiri was attacked by the police when he was going to Medaram Jatara.

The leaders also condemned the attack of some of the lawyers of Patiala court on the journalists, who were discharging their duties peacefully. They demanded immediate action on the persons who are involved in attacks both at Warangal and Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, the district unit president of TUWJ A Adinaryana said, “The lawyers and police officials who are in respectable jobs are behaving like rowdies attacking the journalists who are working peacefully for the betterment of society.

Attacking the questioning journalists is nothing but killing the democracy.” The TUWJ leaders Syed Ismail, A Nagendar, K Ramanaryana, B Prasen, Khadeer, Pasha, E. Biksham, R Raju, N Venkatrav, K Kiran, Rajinikanth, Rama Krishna, Ravi Kiran, Appala Raju and G Srinivas Reddy were present among the leaders who condemned the attack along with others.
