Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao called upon prospective investors to choose Telangana as their destination for business in IT and allied sectors, electronic and other sectors. He said TS has a single window IT policy without any grills. Speaking on the occasion of launching TS government’s new IT policy at Hyderabad International Convention Center here on Monday, the Chief Minister said that so far they had given clearances to 1691 industries and had done away with red tape and corruption.

Of them 803 had already started operations, he said. He said that though Telangana is just 20-month old and is the youngest state in the country, it has been striving hard to make progress on all fronts. Reiterating that his government’s stand was to encourage investments in the state, the Chief Minister said, “a year ago, the government had unveiled its industrial policy to clear investment proposals through a hassle free single window system.”

He said all the investment proposals have been cleared within 15 days time and thereby the state was emerging as the most favoured destination for investors and assured all necessary cooperation from the government for mutual benefit of the state and the investors, he added. Earlier, Governor E S L Narasimhan appreciating the role of Information Technology Minister K T Ramarao and the government for making efforts in a right direction said, “Of late, ideology has given way to technology and technology in turn has become an elitist connotation.”

The new IT policy and Rural Technology policy unveiled have the uniqueness of covering all such uncovered areas to benefit the people and this a laudable initiative, he said.

The new policy of the TS government syncs well with the Centre’s policy paving way for ample scope to get Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) under Make in India programme, he said.

Infosys former HR director T V Mohandas Pai asked the TS government to create an Innovation Fund of Rs 3,000 crore to encourage and create nearly 20,000 start ups in the state. Intel Corporation president Debajani Ghosh pointed out that technology on its own has no magic. Providing better education, health care, creation of livelihoods and improving of standards of people should be the objective for which technology needed to be employed, she pointed out. S

he asked the state government to figure out its priority areas and assured Intel’s participation in the initiatives of the state. NASSCOM Chairman Mohan Reddy asked the government to establish three institutions of excellence in the fields of Internet of Things, Intellectual Property, and Cyber Security.
