Grand celebrations marked the ‘Annual Day’ of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal on Tuesday at Kazipet.

Warangal: Grand celebrations marked the ‘Annual Day’ of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal on Tuesday at Kazipet. A total of 95 students of B Tech and M Tech courses were awarded gold medals and cash prizes on the day for their outstanding academic performance by the institute director Prof T Srinivasa Rao. While 34 were gold medal awardees, 61 were cash prize winners.

Nischal Prasad Nhuchhe Pradhan from B Tech (civil engineering) was presented with the highest gold medals for excelling in academics. He won seven gold medals constituted by different donors. Similarly, Manaswi Amalanadhan from B Tech, ECE department and Darisi Devipriyanka from M Tech (civil engineering) have won two gold medals respectively.

Addressing the students, institute Director Prof Srinivasa Rao said that NIT Warangal was the oldest institution in the new state of Telangana and has earned international reputation for its academic and research activities with years of hard work of the faculty and students as well.

Hence the students should focus to excel in their future endeavours in order to uphold the standing of the institution, Srinivasa Rao said adding that the institute would offer all possible support to the students in their studies.

Deans Prof. SVS Ramana Reddy and Prof. GVS Nageshwara Rao, Registrar Prof. M Chandrashekar, chief warden M Sai Shanker, student council president P Aravind, PRO K Francis Sudhakar, students and their parents attended the ceremony.
