Hyderabad: Telangana government is all set to celebrate second anniversary of Telangana Formation Day in a grand manner on June 2.

As promised by TRS during the 2014 elections, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will lay foundation stone for a huge Telangana martyrs memorial to be constructed in the Telangana martyrs memorial park (Amaraveerula Smruthi Vanam) coming up in a sprawling 12 acres on the banks of Hussain Sagar on the formation day.

The Chief Minister held a review meeting with the officials, attended by Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma and Secretary to Revenue Department BR Meena and officials of Roads and Buildings Department at the camp office here, on the arrangements being made for the celebrations.

He instructed the officials to shift Buddha Purnima building and the offices of Tourism and Energy departments to establish the memorial park near the famous lake. KCR wanted the memorial park to reflect the cultural ethos of Telangana and it should also be a centre for culture and spirituality.

State Engineer-in- Chief (national highways) Ganpathi Reddy has been entrusted with the project. KCR also directed state Cultural department to organsie Telangana celebrations in an ‘innovative’ way in the districts and also at New Delhi.

As part of celebrations, a huge tri- colour flag would be displayed between Hussainsagar and Secunderabad on the same day.
