Speaking to media at Turkapally police station, Ponnala Lakshmaiah condemned the arrests of Congress and other party leaders who were fighting for the farmers. 

Nalgonda: Former PCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah dubbed KCR ruling as ‘Tughlaq ruling’. On Tuesday, Medak police arrested Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Medak DCC president Sunitha Lakshma Reddy at Kukunurpally in Kondapaka mandal in Medak district when they were heading towards Mallannasagar and shifted them to Turkapalli police station in Nalgonda district.

Speaking to media at Turkapally police station, Ponnala Lakshmaiah condemned the arrests of Congress and other party leaders who were fighting for the farmers.

He demanded that the government should pay compensation to oustees of Mallannasagar according to Land acquisition Act 2013. He recalled that KCR voted for the LA Act 2013 bill in Parliament when he was MP from the State in United Andhra Pradesh.

The Congress leader also condemned the police lathi charge on farmers from inundated villages of Mallannasagar reservoir during their peaceful protest.
