Heavy rush was witnessed at puhskar ghats in the district on Saturday, the second day of Krishna Pushkaralu. Devotees from Hyderabad, Khammam, Warangal, Ranga Reddy and other neighbouring districts took holy dip at Nagarjuna Sagar, Mattapalli and Wadapalli ghats.

Nalgonda: Heavy rush was witnessed at puhskar ghats in the district on Saturday, the second day of Krishna Pushkaralu. Devotees from Hyderabad, Khammam, Warangal, Ranga Reddy and other neighbouring districts took holy dip at Nagarjuna Sagar, Mattapalli and Wadapalli ghats. As per official record, as many as 2.50 lakh devotees took the holy dip on Saturday.

Macherla MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy, along with his family members, performed ablution at Shivalayam ghat in Nagarjuna Sagar. Responding to a complaint by The Hans India reporters over insufficient dressing rooms at Sagar ghats, Joint Collector Dr N Satyanarayana took the initiative and arranged additional dressing rooms for women by evening on the same day.

Government Special Advisor and retired IAS Ramalaxman, Sattupally MLA Sandra Venkataveeraiah and State Customs Commissioner M Srinivas took holy dip at Mattapalli while Bhongir MLA P Shekar Reddy and BJP state spokesperson Paduri Karuna along with their family members took holy dip at Wadapalli ghat.

Greyhounds SP and Pushkaralu in-charge Tarun Joshi inspected Mattapalli pushkar ghats in a boat. Miryalguda MLA Bhaskar Rao’s son, Siddartha along with his friends helped PHCs in taking holy dip at Wadapally pushkar ghat. The devotees waiting for water flow at Kanagal and Darveshpuram Pushkar ghats were relieved as MP Gutha Sukender Reddy and Nalgonda RDO Venkatachary started the river festival at 2 pm on the day.
