The suspended leaders of Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) P Ravinder and N Prahlad questioned the authority of TJAC chairman Prof Kodandaram to suspend them.
Hyderabad: The suspended leaders of Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) P Ravinder and N Prahlad questioned the authority of TJAC chairman Prof Kodandaram to suspend them. At a press conference here on Wednesday they said that JAC was not a registered body and hence Prof Kodandaram has no right to suspend them. They said that there was no internal democracy in JAC.
The JAC leaders P Ravinder, N Prahlad and Tanvir Sultana criticised Kodandaram for his unilateral decisions in JAC.The JAC leaders felt dejected over their suspension and expressed displeasure over not being given a chance for clarification. P Ravinder said that he was with the JAC since its inception and questioned as to how the chairman could suspend him.
Ravinder said that he took initiative of restructuring JAC in the new state. He further said that Kodandaram was enjoying the chairman’s post without any election. The JAC chairman had resolved that no member should align with any political party but he was meeting political party leaders. “If you are interested to become the CM then join politics but do not use people for your needs,” Ravinder said. He alleged that Kodandaram is using JAC for his own publicity.
The suspended leader questioned the JAC chairman as to why he did not respond to the letter they wrote. He also questioned as to why a case was filed seeking permission from the court with a different lawyer when N Prahlad was available as JAC convener. “Kodandaram knew very well that the court would not grant permission for the rally. But, still gave the call for everyone to join the rally and he stayed back at home, Ravinder said.
Taking objection to the remark by Kodandaram that they were sold to the government, Prahlad said if that was the case then they would not have been part of JAC for past the two years. He questioned as to why Kodandaram met CPM leader T Veerabhadram, who was against the formation of Telangana. He suggested the JAC chairman to form a political party if he feels that he had public support. Tanvir Sultana said she was resigning from the JAC voluntarily alleging that there was no respect for women in the organisation.
