TS Civil Supplies Dept bags two National Skoch Awards
The Civil Supplies Department of Telangana Government received two National Skoch Awards this year to its latest technology based Command Control Centre and Financial Management System, Online Procurement Management System (FMS-OPMS) wings.
Hyderabad: The Civil Supplies Department of Telangana Government received two National Skoch Awards this year to its latest technology based Command Control Centre and Financial Management System, Online Procurement Management System (FMS-OPMS) wings.
Telangana Civil Supplies Corporation stood first in country by using information technology in its proceedings. Establishing Command Control Centre in Civil Supplies is one and first of kind in the country. Installing GPS to 1337 Stage 1, Stage 2 vehicles and 46 Kerosene vehicles, CC Cameras at MLS points in Hyderabad and linking them to Command Control Centre and analyzing live transactions of vehicles resulted in curbing illegal transportation of PDS Rice.
Command Control Centre came up ideal for other stated. Goa, Jammu & Kashmir state ministers, Central Food Secretary, Jharkhand Civil Supplies Secretary and few others visited Command Control Centre in Civil Supplies Head office and admired the performance. Now it achieved two Skoch Award to its name.
For monitoring financial management operations Financial Management System, Online Procurement Management System (FMS-OPMS) is introduced. FMS is developed to ease the daily transactions which can be viewed online by concerned staff and officers. By introducing FMS software financial discipline and accountability has grown in officials. By using FMS-OPMS during year 2016-2017 Karif & Rabi season Rs.8,100 Crores was credited directly to 11 Lakh Farmers accounts through online and stood first in country.
Civil Supplies Commissioner C.V. Anand has expressed his happiness on receiving two Skoch Awards. He said the awards have increased more responsibility on the Corporation. By using technology Civil Supplies Department has put hold on illegal transactions to a large extent. In the last year great results were achieved by using latest technology.
With the help of technology transparency in administration, curbing illegal activities will be made easy. By using technology in corporation we could achieve good results, said the Commissioner.
