Nalgonda: Minister for Irrigation and Marketing T Harish Rao on Sunday inaugurated a market for lemon in Nakrekal and another market for mosambi in Nalgonda. Minister for Energy G Jagadish Reddy too participated in the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said the cultivators of lemon and mosambi would secure good price for their produce now with the opening of the markets. The TRS government had fulfilled its promise to open markets for the farmers, he said.

Addressing a public meeting, Harish Rao said there would not have been these markets if the Congress was in power. He recalled that former Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy had said the Congress could have not have established the markets.

Stating that Kaleshwaram irrigation project was an engineering marvel, he said that people in both erstwhile Warangal and Suryapet districts would be benefited by the project. The earlier

Congress governments had completely ignored the people’s welfare and they were busy fighting with each for “Chief Minister’s chair.” He recalled that there were frequent power cuts during the Congress regime. He said the Central government too had praised the State government for launching innovative schemes. As a part of the programme, the Minister inaugurated agriculture building.

He took part in oath-taking function of nominated members of governing council of the Market Committee in Nalgonda MPs Boora Narsiah Goud , Badugula Lingaiah Yadav, Gutha Sukendhar Reddy , TSFDC chairman Banda Narender Reddy , MLAs Vemula Veeresham, Shekar Reddy , Kishore , Ravindra Kunar, MLC Karne Parbhakar, CM OSD Deshapathi Srinivas , TRS Nalgonda constituency in charge Bhupal Reddy, local TRS leaders and farmers participated.
