Hyderabad: Scores of Head Masters, who exercised web options for transfers received a rude shock on Saturday when the automated software flashed two HM vacancies against one school.
Speaking to The Hans India, a Kameswari (name changed) said that she wanted to opt for Government High School located in the Market Lane, Narayanapet. However, she was shocked when she saw two vacancies of Head Masters shown against the same school.
Giving more details on this, Telangana State United Teachers' Federation (TSUTF) General Secretary Chava Ravi said, “It is not the lone case. There are several HMs who exercised web options, but were shocked to see double vacancies shown against several schools in the different districts across the State."
Within a day after sorting out the issues related to transfers in a meeting held with Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari, the process of transfer of HMs has come to square one again, he added.
This is giving jitters to HMs in exercising web options as if one gives his option, then, there is every possibility that another candidate might also opt for the same school. This will lead to allocation of two HMs for the same school.
In such a situation, the government will be forced to cancel one allotment. In turn, the entire exercise of online web options system for a transparent process in implementing teacher transfers will go for a toss. Following this, the TSUTF has demanded the Commissioner of School Education (CSE) to reschedule online web options from Saturday. “They should take up online web options only after software issues are addressed,” Ravi said.
In an earlier meeting of teachers associations with the Deputy Chief Minister, it was decided to first take up inter-district transfers to give the much-needed relief to those seeking spouse transfers. However, the online software did not show any options to opt for those seeking transfer under this category.
Also, those who had completed a certain period of service in a school have to be compulsorily transferred. Even in such cases, where a candidate wanted to give options under ‘Spouse Category’ transfer, the software showing only schools with vacancies located in the vicinity, leaving such candidates with no choice to exercise options. In addition to this, the online system is not showing the vacancies arising at various schools to enable those interested to give their options seeking a transfer to such places.
On top of it all, lack of autosave option has left candidates to go online multiple times to give their options. Sekhar Reddy, a teacher said, “I wanted to give option seeking transfer to Government High School, Sanathnagar Old. After nearly completing all the fields, the screen went off. When I had logged into my account again, then, the fields remained empty and I had to fill all of them once again,” he said.
