Suryapet: Alleging deletion of their names from the list of Pullichinthala Project oustees and harassment by the Revenue officials, as many as 20 families from Vellatur village in Chinthalapalem mandal on Monday staged protest at the district Collectorate.
According to protesters, the government had acquired their 100 acres of agriculture land located at Vellatur village in Chinthalapalem mandal for the construction of Pullichinthala project.
At the time land acquisition, the government had made an agreement with oustees that they could cultivate their lands as long as the project works did not start.
The oustees of Vellatur village alleged that by taking bribe the Revenue officials have been replacing the names of oustees by others. They brought the matter to the notice of VRO, Tahsildar and RDO several times but in vain, they complained. They urged the district administration to intervene in the matter and do justice with them.
Meanwhile, the oustees argued with RDO Biksha Naik before the JC and Collector and told them that the RDO was threatening them in the name of police cases whenever they go to Kodad RDO office for justice . They openly alleged that RDO Biksha Naik is the main person behind the change of names of oustees by others in Vellatur village.
