Illegal parking causing traffic jams

Secunderabad: Almost half of the SD Road is occupied by cars for parking purpose here. The customers of Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Chutneys, Cream Stone park their vehicles on the road. They occupy almost half of the road space in the peak hours of 8:30 pm to 11:30 pm as families descend at Chutneys and Cream Stone.

In the evening time there is a huge traffic on the SP road, Secunderabad. The parking vehicles on the road occupying almost half the road space add to the traffic jams,” says Priyesh, a private employee. “There is no use of big roads if commuters park their vehicles illegally in no parking zones obstructing the pedestrians and traffic. These vehicles are parked on the road throughout the day without paying any parking fees. It is troublesome for people like us who have to be in traffic jams for hours together. There is no alternate route also, so we have to go by this road every day,” says Himesh, a B tech student.

The travel buses that are parked near Zoroastrian Club also park their vehicles taking up a major space of the road. Due to this there is traffic on that road even after 9:30 pm.
