Khammam: The members of Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) have observed the Madiga Martyrs Commemoration Day in Khammam on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, MRPS national core committee member and district coordinator Venkateswar Rao said, “The fight for sub-classification of SC reservations have been going on for two decades now. Many people sacrificed their lives for this purpose and became martyrs. It is our responsibility to make their dreams come true.”
Addressing the crowd, MRPS member Apoori Somanna said, “Many young people lost their lives seeking the sub-classification of SC reservation. Their sacrifices must not be forgotten and their inspiration must always be remembered.”
The members added how independence failed to address economical inequalities in the country, and called for the Madiga youth to fight for their rights. MRPS district leaders Yaganti Ramu, Ambedkar, Rambabu, Janardhan and others attended the programme.
