A large group of GWMC corporators of TRS and the party workers have taken up a deeksha at Kaloji Centre in Hanamkonda, commemorating Chandrashekar Rao’s fast. Addressing the gathering, the Health Minister recollect the 2009 agitation by KCR, which he said led to the formation of separate Telangana.

The TRS chief Chandrasekhar Rao had risked his life in fighting for the cause of separate Telangana by launching the indefinite hunger strike. The same spirit was being continued in developing Telangana in all fields and uplifting the poor by him after becoming the CM, Laxma Reddy noted.

MLA Vinay Bhasker addressing the gathering paid tributes to those sacrificed their lives for statehood cause. He called upon the people in the State to stand by the CM Chandrashekar Rao in achieving ‘Golden Telangana’.Even after formation of separate Telangana, some forces like Congress were trying to stall the development of the State by creating hurdles in the implementation of developmental projects. The public should teach a lesson to Congress and its leaders, the MLA said.

GWMC Mayor N Narender noted that the TRS government was committed for the cause of poor and downtrodden sections. None of the state governments in the country were spending money on welfare programmes like the TRS government was going.

The leaders lauded the CM for his tactful approach in achieving statehood to Telangana and hit at the Opposition parties for criticising the TRS leadership and the government. The Opposition parties were not able to digest the development initiatives by the government and feared losing their base in the State.
