Asifabad: Komaram Bheem-Asifabad District Administrative Officer M Champalal on Thursday trekked for a distance of nine kilometres to reach Komaram Bheem Ada project along with other district officials to inspect site for development of trekking amenities and to set up a watch tower. Champalal agreed to release Rs 10 lakh for trekking development in the area. He said that the development of trekking amenities would promote tourism as well.

He along with officials negotiated uneven terrain and reached the dam and inspected the works going on there. He asked the district forest officer to lay pucca road to the project for the benefit of the trekkers. He said that the view down below is sylvan. He inspected the proposed site for the forest watch tower. Later, he inspected the Mission Bhagiratha works going on there.

In the first phase, Rs 115 crore has been allocated. In all, 90 per cent of the intake well-I works have been executed successfully. The rest of the works would be completed soon. For the second phase, Rs 1650 crore has been sanctioned. The L&T has been executing the works. Of the 2600 pipeline works, 2100 have been through.

Out of the 65 structures to be executed, 55 have been executed and the rest of them would be erected in a month, rural water supply officials told the administrative officer, who expressed satisfaction over the quality of the works executed. Joint Administrative Officer V Ashok Kumar, district officials and others accompanied the administrative officer.
