Telangana Telugu Desam Forum Convener Errabelli Dayakar Rao has defended the statement made by the party chief N Chandrababu Naidu who claimed credit for stalling bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh during NDA regime. “At that time the policy of the party was to keep the state united and we acted accordingly” he asserted speaking to The Hans India here on Sunday. “There was nothing wrong in what the party chief had said.”

Rao said that later the party went by the aspirations of people and supported the demand of Telangana State. “It has even given a letter in favour of Telangana State creation to the Centre. It will still stand by it. TDP is only asking the Centre to a careful approach to sort out the issues that would arise out of bifurcation and do justice to all the regions,” he said.
