The 3-day Cultural Fest of VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering & Technology, “Sintillashunz ’18” opened at the Pragathi Nagar campus on Wednesday. 

Hyderabad: The 3-day Cultural Fest of VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering & Technology, “Sintillashunz ’18” opened at the Pragathi Nagar campus on Wednesday.

Kittu Vissapragada, Telugu film lyricist and writer, attended the event and spoke on the occasion. He encouraged students to use their freedom and the platform such as VNRVJIET, which is rich with 8-9 ECA student clubs, to enrich their experience of life. He insisted that only arts can make our lives fuller, without which we may just survive and cannot claim to have lived. Dr. Chakravarthula Kiran, Associate Professor-Dept. of EIE, introduced the Chief Guest before his speech.

Amulya Racharla, Marketing Manager-Vodafone and an alumna of the Institute, attended the event as a Guest of Honour. She recollected her college days and her involvement in various activities including the NSS Unit VNRVJIET, which grew from a 3-member team to a large group that conducts various socially-inclined events now. She also told the students to keep themselves abreast of technological advancements happenings around us everyday.

Dr. T. Srinivasa Rao, Head-ECA & CCA, informed the achievements of various Student Clubs of the Institute during the last one year, both within and outside the Institute. Dr. Y. Padma Shayi, Dean-Student Progression, congratulated the Convergence team for conducting a great event and she congratulated the Sintillashunz team for their sincere preparation for a great show in the coming three days.

Dr. C.D. Naidu, Principal, spoke how the campus was lively through the last 2 days vand hoped that students learnt a great deal during Convergence 2k18. He wished that the students relax in the next few days of Cultural Fest, Sintillashunz ’18 at the campus. He insisted on how presencing– being present and sensing – is necessary for students in a learning environment, in order to fully enjoy life.

The valedictory event for Convergence 2k18 came to a closure on the dais with distribution of certificates to all winners during the Technical Fest. Certificates and prizes were also given away to winners of Intramural competitions conducted by the various Student Clubs of the Institute. Performances by Classical Dance Wing and LiveWire dance club were also a part of the Cultural Day Celebrations.
