Prisoner drinks toilet acid, dies
A 35-year-old prisoner on life-term allegedly committed suicide by consuming toilet cleaning acid at Cherlapally Central Prison on Monday morning. According to police, Shekar, convicted in connection with a murder, went to the toilet and consumed the acid. Jail wardens rushed him to the Gandhi Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Sources said that he took the extreme step unable to bear police torture.
