Apple has managed to build an enormous following on X without doing what most brands consider essential for social media success: posting regularly.

The technology giant’s official X account, @Apple, has almost 10 million followers, but its main timeline has never featured an organic, publicly visible post. For visitors checking the profile, the page looks almost completely inactive, displaying a grey header image, a basic profile picture and a “0 Posts” listing.

The unusual approach stands out on a platform where brands typically rely on frequent posts, product updates and audience engagement to attract and retain followers. Yet Apple has managed to maintain a massive audience without using its primary account as a conventional social media channel.

Why does Apple’s X account show ‘0 Posts’?

Apple’s lack of visible posts does not mean the company completely ignores X. The company has previously used the platform for paid advertising and promotional campaigns, suggesting that its strategy is more selective than simply abandoning the social network.

Rather than filling its main account with regular updates, Apple appears to rely on other channels and accounts to communicate with users. This allows the company to maintain a strong presence on X without turning its primary profile into an active publishing platform.

One of the key examples is @AppleSupport, which regularly interacts with customers through public replies, troubleshooting guidance and useful tips. The support account serves as a more active communication channel for Apple's large user base.

Apple’s senior executives also contribute to the company’s presence on X through their personal accounts. High-profile figures, including Tim Cook, regularly share product announcements, updates and personal posts with their followers.

Apple’s unusual social media strategy has naturally attracted plenty of attention from users on the platform. Its enormous follower count combined with an apparently empty timeline has become a source of amusement and disbelief.

One user wrote, "Fun fact: Apple has never posted a single tweet on X. "Another commented, "That's actually wild for a company worth that much. They basically said, 'We don't need social media hype. We launch products and let the world do the talking.'"

Meanwhile, a third user shared a video of an empty shop and captioned it, "Apple is the only account on Twitter with almost 10 million followers and never made a tweet," pointing out the irony of Apple having millions of followers despite maintaining an empty main timeline.
