So one can expect the iPhone 9 to launch for Rs 37,000 to Rs 40,000.

Apple might name it iPhone 9, iPhone SE 2 or the iPhone SE 2020, but this device could be the first iPhones to launch in the H1 of this year and company's another effort at making a mark in the 'more affordable' smartphone market.

Hope you remember, the Apple iPhone SE was launched back in 2016 in India at Rs 39,000. When you compare it with today's smartphone price standards, this Apple iPhone is cheap. But how much rise will the iPhone 9's see?

Krish Sankar, a noted analyst at Cowen, says that the iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9 might cost around Rs 33,800. So one can expect the iPhone 9 to launch for Rs 37,000 to Rs 40,000. This pricing could potentially kill the iPhone XR, which is at present priced at Rs 47,000 and is more advanced technologically.

As per the recent concept video, the upcoming iPhone 9 resembles the iPhone 8 a lot. At the front, it comes with a TouchID fingerprint sensor with massive bezels at the top and bottom.

Currently, the iPhone XR is priced at Rs 47,000 and flaunts better features like FaceID, design and 'bezel-less' display, and the iPhone 9 might fall in the Rs 45,000 segment. The price may go lower with the missing OLED screen and FaceID. All the iPhones launched in the past years, have FaceID and OLED screen (excluding the iPhone XR). We may see a newer processor, more battery, compact form factor, and some new colours.

With iPhone 9, the company plan to eat the Rs 30,000-Rs 40,000 market share. But nothing is confirmed as of now, and we have to wait for more to see where the iPhone 9 or the iPhone SE fits in this grand scheme of things.
