Google turns 28, celebrated birthday with a special doodle

On Sunday Google celebrated it’s 28th birthday with a Google Doodle from Google's early days on it's homepage.

As we all are aware, this search engine started as a project by two Computer graduate students Larry Page and Sergey Brin. They worked out of their dorm rooms to build a search engine portal called Backrub. In these 28 years ever since Brin and Page outlined their vision for a search engine, the company has grown up dramatically.

Backrub was the idea which was developed into Google later. "We chose our systems name, Google, because it is a common spelling of googol, or 10100 and fits well with our goal of building very large-scale search engines," the students said.

Google’s website says, "The relentless search for better answers continues to be at the core of everything we do. Today, with more than 194,668 employees in different countries, Google makes hundreds of products used by billions of people across the globe, from YouTube and Android to Smartbox and, of course, Google Search."

But anyways Google doesn’t have a birth certificate. However, Google celebrates its birth anniversery on September 27, though it was not always its official birthday. Until 2005 it celebrated its birthday on September 7. But from 2005, it has rejoiced its birthday on September 8, September 26 and now freshly on September 27.

Today, Google is accessible across the world in more than 100 languages, answering trillions of searches queries each year. The scale is enormous. We can’t imagine ourselves without Google…
