The announcement by the chief minister did not go well with an RTC worker who worried about his livelihood and slipped into depression and collapsed from a heart attack. Sammaiah, working at Manthani depot in Hyderabad suffered a heart attack and was admitted to a hospital on Thursday. He is a native of Seethampalli village of Khammampalli mandal of Peddapalli district.

On the other hand, an RTC worker identified as Mekala Ashok attempted suicide after being depressed over the government's stubborn attitude. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Thorrur.

Another RTC worker from Siddipet died of depression on Wednesday. He was identified as Nageshwar (42).
