Awareness meet on Tuberculosis(TB) held in Huzurnagar
Tuberculosis Nodal Officer Indirala Ramakrishna stated that the tuberculosis (TB) can be cured effectively with short-term treatment.
Huzurnagar (Suryapet): Tuberculosis Nodal Officer Indirala Ramakrishna stated that the tuberculosis (TB) can be cured effectively with short-term treatment. He conducted a meeting to create awareness among the people about the disease at the Primary Health Centre in Amaravaram of Huzurnagar mandal in the district.
Addressing the villagers, he suggested them to approach local Asha workers if they have been suffering from cough for two weeks, loss of appetite and blood in their spit, and get the diagnostic tests done and also avail free medicines if they were suffering from the disease.
He informed that the government has been providing Rs 500 per month as an incentive to TB patients to help them get nutritious food during the treatment period.
Local health assistants Udayagiri Srinivas, Gunja Vijaya, lab technicians Gurrala Upender, Sneha Latha, Danamma, Swarupa and locals were present at the awareness meet.
